               60 Years of award winning

              Farm fresh turkeys

IMG_0002_NEW Ron and Mary Scale started rearing Christmas Turkeys on their farm at Upper Haythog in 1954 as an additional enterprise to their farming business.
 They started with 300 turkeys primarily to sell to the wholesale trade and over the years they gradually increased the numbers to approx. 3,000 turkeys when Peter joined the business in 1964. This soon became a very important enterprise on the farm and we moved  away from the wholesalers at the earliest opportunity to concentrate on supplying Butcher Retailers and Farm Gate Sales.

During this season there were many turkey farmers in Wales and the Welsh Turkey Association  decided to hold an annual Turkey Flock Competition which we first won in 1966. In later years this has become a dressed turkey competition and we have been fortunate to win the overall Championship Turkey on no fewer than 12 separate occasions along with many other awards. Winning these awards show that we are dedicated and proud of the quality of turkeys that we produce.
IMG_0010_NEW We have one aim and that is to produce genuine farm fresh turkeys to the highest standard using traditional methods to consistently achieve the very best flavour, texture and finish.

Over the 60 years we have enjoyed wonderful support from our many customers and we are delighted that Robert our son who will be taking the business forward and continue to produce turkeys to the very highest quality
